Time,
can be measured in the lives you’ve lived,
that fade from your mind and lips.
Youth can be measured in friends,
that were never heard from again.
So gasp to use your only chance.
No going back to make amends.
If you blink, you’ll miss what’s real
or a fleeting state of bliss.
The cold
The dark
It feels like you’re lost
The flames cast their shadows all over the walls
Words,
They stumble out one by one,
an empty page becomes a thought.
A thought can never be undone,
only shared, or hidden or covered up.
Truth, can be seen in the stroke of a brush,
or in trying to cover it up.
In going back to make amends,
like friends or time, it is or it’s not.
